The Americans #921
Private Kevin J. Baker
American Expeditionary Force, 1918

Pvt. Kevin Baker had been drafted by lottery, having
registered under the Selective Service Act of 1917.
France and the trenches were a dream as he trudged up
the gangplank to the tune of "Over There." Now the
dream was a reality when he joined the 7th Division
in time to go on line during the November
Meuse-Argonne offensive. As he stood looking at an
enemy helmet he wondered, "Will this be
the war to end all wars?"
