The Americans #924
Sergeant William S. Tilton
U.S. Army Paratrooper, 1944

DROPZONE NORMANDY: D-Day at last, 6 June 1944. Sgt. Tilton
and his platoon had been briefed. The 82nd was to drop near
St. Mere Eglise and secure crossings over the River Merderet.
It was to be a night drop between 0115 and 0130 along with
the 101st Airborne. As he was standing waiting to climb
aboard his C-47. Bill thought of his jumps in North Africa,
Sicily and Italy. Now Normandy. He was ready.
