The Americans #935 Lieutenant Philip F. Kessling
Navy Carrier Pilot, 1976
Lt. Kessling stood beside his F-14 fighter on the deck of the
carrier U.S.S. John F. Kennedy (CV-67), as she turned
into the wind in the Mediterranean Sea for take-off.
He had logged over 360 carrier landings, and now as a
mission commander in full flight gear, he prepared to
climb aboard his craft for another mission.
Philip was proud to be a part of Fighter Squadron
Fourteen, VF-14, the "Tophatters," having continuously
unbroken service since September 1919.
