The Americans #941 Seaman G. Eugene Boone
U.S. Navy Talker, 1944
At last it looks as though it will happen ...
a Hunter-Killer Group commanded by Admiral Gallery
in the act of capturing a German U-boat at sea.
The British had achieved this feat early in the war,
but this would be a first for American Forces.
From his position in an outboard guntub, Gene Boone
has a ringside seat and is glad to explain the show
to shipmates below deck.
Perhaps after this war is won, the sub could be
put on display at a museum to impart to the people
at home what the Atlantic war was all about.
